The RGN-86 is a Bulgarian-developed offensive fragmentation hand grenade introduced into the Bulgarian Armed Forces’ service in 1986. It was designed as the offensive counterpart to the Bulgarian RGO-78 defensive grenade, completing a matched defensive-offensive pair in Bulgaria’s domestic grenade program. Both types use the DVM-78 fuse.
The offensive designation indicates a lighter configuration with a smaller effective fragment radius than the RGO-78, calibrated for use during assault without fixed cover – the same tactical role the Soviet RGD-5 serves relative to the F-1 in the Soviet-origin generation. Both Bulgarian-developed types are available in the hand grenades section for independent or combined procurement inquiry.
Available for institutional procurement by ministries of defence, authorized defence contractors, and licensed importers. Inquiries must include product designation, required quantity, country of final destination, intended end-use declaration, and applicable end-user certificate (EUC) or import authorization.
