Description
Atlas International Group deliver and supply 40 mm cartridge tear gas. These shells are designed for an efficient takedown of large crowds, specifically during riots and protests that have become too aggressive or dangerous for operatives in the field to engage at a shorter distance. They are rated with a minimum range to ensure that the user does not suffer the effects of the tear gas.
Tear gas typically produces symptoms of irritation and pain. When targets are exposed to the chemicals, they are quickly and efficiently taken down due to the irritation they experience. Other effects include temporary blindness and even bleeding.
Atlas International Group offers three varieties of 40 mm cartridge tear gas.
40mm Cartridge Tear Gas (03 projectiles)
The CTG2 3P have a minimum range of 75m. They are fired from anti-riot weapons of 40 mm calibre and have a shelf life of 5 years. The smoke is emitted for roughly 15 to 25 seconds and the chemical weight is 100g. These are fairly standard in their use and are the most common cartridge tear gas variety carried by both private military companies and police forces around the world.
40mm Cartridge Tear Gas (long range)
The CTG2 LR is designed for long-range takedowns of large crowds. This is useful for when a crowd has become too unstable to be controlled effectively with other means, and operatives need to pull back for their own safety. The range is at a minimum of 135 m, making it much more difficult to use than other 40mm cartridge tear gas.
40mm Cartridge Tear Gas (short range)
Lastly, the CTG2 SR is the short-range version with an effective range of 80 – 120 m.
